  40.      The demo version of the recently announced Release II of Origins.
  41.      Origins II is a dedicated data base for keeping track of genealogical
  42.      information.  It will support databases of over 6 million individuals.
  43.      The user interface is designed to be both easy to use and very powerful.
  44.      Origins will correctly handle multiple marriages, step-children,
  45.      unmarried parents, and other difficult situations that some programs
  46.      refuse to allow.  Origins lists Persons, Marriages, Parent/Child Index,
  47.      Ahnentafel, and Soundex.  It generates reports on Persons, Family
  48.      Groups, Pedigree Chart, Descendants Charts, and Tiny-Tafel.

  50.      Context-sensitive hypertext help is built in.  Origins can automatic-
  51.      ally call your ARexx-compatible editor to create Source and Note files.
  52.      These files may also be written and displayed in hypertext format.
  53.      You can search on any combination of fields or by Soundex codes.  You
  54.      can instantly display IFF (ILBM) pictures of individuals, marriages,
  55.      baptisms, and family groups.

  57.      You can import and export data between Origins and other genealogical
  58.      programs using the GEDCOM file format, and you can generate Tiny-Tafel
  59.      listings for use with the Tafel Matching System.  Many useful ARexx
  60.      functions are included.

  62.      A single floppy data disk will hold approximately 2000 person and 500
  63.      marriage records.  Origins is not LDS compatible.

  65. NEW FEATURES
  66.  
  67.      Installation is now very easy.  The user interface is improved.  For
  68.      example, localization support displays all information in your chosen
  69.      language (German available now, with French, Italian, and Spanish
  70.      planned), and the graphical interface is now laid out dynamically,
  71.      relative to your system overscan preferences.  Online help has been
  72.      expanded to include virtually all gadgets and menu items.

  74.      AmigaDOS style pattern matching is now implemented in searches.
  75.      Two new date formats have been added, so you may now specify events
  76.      as happening before or after a certain year.  Macro Keys allow
  77.      you to enter long strings with a single keystroke.

  79.      Some reports have been significantly improved, and a new descendant
  80.      report in the general style of the New England Historical and
  81.      Genealogical Register format has been added.

  83.      Record caching has been added, making the access times much faster for
  84.      all complex functions, especially sorts.
